Twice a month, I plan to share my number of books sold in hopes that these numbers might help other writers make their own decisions about self-publishing. As you can see, ABDUCTED numbers are slowly dropping. What goes up, must come down. I would love to hit the top twenty and stay there...forever. But that's not realistic. I have been enjoying every moment of this amazing indie author journey and I feel good about every book I have released. After months of marketing and promotion, I am writing again. I have two finished novels waiting for their turn to be polished/edited, but they have been pushed to the side while I work on the sequel to Abducted.

I hope these numbers help to answer questions. What sort of spikes and/or drops will the holidays bring? How will the release of the $79 kindle affect sales? What genre will sell best in December? Will a new release take away from current sales or bring me new readers? Will sales go up and down based on the number of new kindle users peaking and then dropping? Does one genre consistently sell better than another or will my time travel romances out sell romantic comedy over the holidays?

Every writer has their own personal and unique journey. My hope is that I can inspire others out there who are working hard at their craft to NEVER GIVE UP.

Let me know if you have ANY questions at all.

Theresa,
I can't thank you enough for sharing your sales and for your unending encouragement!

I've just entered the Indie Publishing ranks THIS WEEK! You helped me reach the decision to GO FOR IT! I hope to have my own numbers to share very soon. ;-)

Thanks so much for sharing these, Theresa. It's very encouraging and inspiring!! It's also nice to hear how much work you had to do on marketing and promotion - makes me feel like I'm not going crazy. Like Loucinda, my debut novel came out on Amazon this week, and there is SO much to do with marketing and promotion, I feel like my head might spin off. Am trying to remember that it is a sprint, not a marathon, but it helps to hear that this is just part of the game:) Congrats on your amazing sales!

Oops I meant to say that it is a marathon, NOT a sprint. LOL:)

I continue to be inspired by your success! Thank you for sharing. Although my numbers aren't nearly what your numbers are, I've been enjoying this journey. I noticed your book on the Kindle Newsletter today. Pretty cool!

Thank you so much, Lisa. Is your book, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU, a new release? Love your cover!

The feature on the KDP newsletter was a fun surprise. Two very nice people at KDP interviewed me a few weeks ago, but they didn't mention the feature, so it was exciting to see this morning.

Hi, Theresa -
You are inspiring! Congrats on your numbers. Well deserved. I loved your two time travel novels and am about to begin the RomSuspense next.

A little behind on my reading because I am also beginning my Indie pub journey and trying to learn and do so much.

A question - is there a reason you chose blogger over wordpress for your home page? I'm trying to decide and would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks. And good luck with your sequel.

Hi Alicia!

Thank you for the nice comments!

Good question about Blogger. I have mixed feelings about whether to use Blogger or Wordpress. I think they are both fairly easy to use, but you will have a learning curve with either.

If you are getting ready to self-publish, I would highly suggest you join IRI run by Carly Carson and Cate Rowan. Here is the link:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IndieRomanceInk/
(The link to Indie Romance Ink [IRI} is also on my LINKS tab if you go to my home page). Anyone can join and there are hundreds of helpful writers all answering questions and helping each other out. Come on over and see what everyone has to say about Wordpress vs. Blogger.

I don't feel as if I put enough thought into the decision when I picked blogger. One of the cons seems to be that many people have a difficult time commenting on blogger and that's a problem. I've heard that wordpress has more templates to pick from.

Hope to see you over at IRI!

If not, let me know if you have any more questions and I'll try to help. :)

Thanks, Theresa!

Actually I saw that link on your website and joined, but I have a tendency to lurk until I am comfortable.
I will definitely put this question out over there. Great suggestion!
